The practice of yoga establishes an inner attunement with God that constitutes the universal basis of all religions.
Meditation
is the highest from of activity that man can perform, and it is the most balanced way to find God. By the power of mind you can go farther than the farthest star. Unity among various religions may be brought about only when the individuals who practice those religions become actually aware of God within. Develop intuition, direct soul knowledge. Yoga enables man to perceive the truth in all religions. Yoga is for everybody. The secret of happiness is not to become attached to anything,
free from sense slavery. The joy in meditation reveals the Eternal Joy spread over all creation. Happiness lies in making others happy, in forsaking self-interest to bring joy to others. A federation of all religions and nations is necessary. But such a union will come only when every individual engages in that meditation which leads to direct contact with God. Self-realization is not something one can learn from books; it comes only through personal experience. Reincarnation provides the only plausible explanation for the seeming injustices in inequalities among men. When the “can’t” disappears from your mind, divine power comes. Company has the greatest influence on will. If you would be an artist, surround yourself with good paintings and artists. If you would be a divine man, surround yourself with spiritual company. What I am told has no meaning for me unless I experience it. If we do not first master ourselves we cannot help anyone else. Don’t seek little things; they will divert you from God. Make life simple and be a king. The inner power of memory comes from God and is perfect. It never forgets. Good or poor memory is a matter of conviction. Your memory is in actuality, a manifestation of the all-recalling divine memory of God. Fear nothing. Life and death are only different processes of your
consciousness
. Laugh at any trouble that comes. Each day has a lesson to teach. As water by cooling and condensation becomes ice, so thought by condensation assumes physical form. Everything in the universe is thought in material form. Be calm and you will always be happy. Develop a balanced nature—intellectually, materially, and spiritually. Plain living, high thinking. Your happiness should never be subject to any outside influence. Don’t keep your mind engaged in too many activities. If you can analyse yourself fearlessly, you will be able to stand the critical analysis of others without flinching. Make everyone feel that you are a friend; that you are a helper. Make everyone else feel that you are an image of God, not by your words but by your behaviour. Happiness depend on meditation. Better than medicines are the rays of the sun, in them is a wonderful healing power. One should take ten-minute sunbath every day. The happy man is less subject to disease, for happiness actually attracts into the body a greater supply of the universal life energy. Everything in the universe is composed of energy, or vibration.
Whatever it is that you fear, take your mind away from it and leave it to God. Much suffering is due simply to worry. If you give up fear you will be free at once. The healing will be instant. Be fearless
.
Whatever you do, do it as nobody else has done it before. Conquering the hearts of others by the power of love is the greatest victory you can win in life. Always consider others first and you will find the whole world at your feet. Those who live completely for others are remembered forever. Accept sleep as a state of freedom to look forward to. So is death, it is a state o rest, a pension from this life. There is nothing to fear. Death is only an experience through which you are meant to learn a great lesson: you cannot die. You are pure energy, pure consciousness. Anything can be done by mind power. Only spiritual consciousness
can save the world. You don’t have to believe, you can
know
.
Convert truth into experience. Whatever comes in life, just take it joyfully, impersonally, as you would a motion picture. Life is entertaining when we do not take it too seriously. Be afraid of nothing. Hate no one, give love to all. Don’t wish for anything more than what is already coming to you. Happiness must start with the individual. When you live for others, they will live for you. You can best attract others by your good actions
.
Practice goodness until you are like a beautiful flower that everyone loves to see. You shouldn’t identify yourself as any particular type of individual. Rather be able to change your personality whenever you want it. Whatever you make up your mind to do, you can do.
Treat everyone in the consciousness that each person is an image of God. Love all men, love all women, love all human beings as your friends. Enjoy things, but don’t be attached to them. Be free, pleasant and self-controlled. Whatever else you may try, it will not produce the divine consciousness that comes from meditation. Live with God in your heart and have no fear in the world—fear will be afraid of you!
