The book "my

of the late sage took in the life and times of her
husband
before his demise in 1987, the wife of the late
nationalist
popularly called "awo" was always by the side of
her
husband through thick and thin of the stormy waters
of
nigerias political terrain ,her
husbands carreer
which
started in the 1960,s
alongside the likes of chief
bode
thomas,chief s.l.akintola{the Aare-Ona-kakanfo of
yorubaland},chiefs anthony enahoro e.t.c.
Parhaps her loyalty to her husbands cause realy
came
to
test at the felony trial of her husband along with
is
associates in 1966 to overthrow the then government
of
sir
alhaji abubakar tafawa balewa,in the thin of her
husbands
incaceration she was always there by his side, and
even
after her husband was clamped in detention she
stayed
with
him through thick and thin ,even the road accident
which
snuffed the life out of their first born she
stillclinged
loyaly to her husband like a leach,when chief
awolowo
was
eventualy released from prison alongside other
aides
like
j.s. tarka from the middle belt ,s.g.ikoku from the
east
e.t.c. she awolowo saw in her a jewel in which
nothing
could be used to value her worth and so he decided
to
write
a book dedicated to eulogising is dutiful wife who
stayed
with him through thick and thin,the strength of
this
amazon would not even be broken despite the restriction
orders placed on her by the emrgency government of
1965,she
still championed the cause of her husbands party even
in
the face of threats by the then ruling party in the
western
region the dideolu specialist hospital a brain child of
the
late sage to immortilise bthe name of his wife was
commisioned and it is right now at various stages of
completion a project dedicated to his jewel of in
esimable
value.
