Pastor Archey was abandoned, abused and molested as a child and later adopted. He became a Pastor later in life, who is infected with AIDS, and became the Founder of the Archey AIDS Foundation. He travels the world speaking, preaching and educating and now an International Author. He is available for speaking engagements and educational workshops.
He became diagnosed with the HIV/AIDS virus, and after years of denial, emotional changes, and the trauma of turning to the arms of alcohol and substance abuse and feeling there was no hope, love or support. He understands that he can live and not die until it is truly his time.
Time will pass and he says he will be long gone, but it is his fervent prayer that through this book, attitudes surrounding HIV/AIDS will change and lives will be saved. He dedicates this book to the memory of his mother, and the Co-Founder of the Archey AIDS Foundation, gives thanks to his Dad, Tate Publishing, his Pastor Dr. Sylvester and Church Family of Union Baptist Church.
As the author looks back over his life he states he have been unsuccessful at almost every attempt to please HIM, in the course of terrible decisions and poor choices God's Mercy and Grace has kept him alive to allow him another opportunity to please HIM, by writing this book. He admits he lived a sinful live along with problems and well kept secrets, of pain, hurt, and guilt.
Sometimes we choose the wrong path; the enemy paints a perfect picture. Bad choices and bad decisions puts one at high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. Are you ready to move on to read his story he says without judgement? So what the adversary/evil one meant for bad God has turned into good. Life is full of lessons, as well as a journey.
One of God's will for us is to love one another as he loves us. Another will of God for us is that we help others that are less fortunate than us. In Chapter One he shares he does not know who his real parents are. He shares his memory is filled with tragedy and terror. He shares that he was adopted by the best parents in the world.
He was a troubled child at the time he was adopted. His Mom's Mother would talk to him about God and read him stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament. In his house and neighborhood he had to go to Sunday School. While being in his bedroom as a child he would read the Bible day and night before school, after school and before he went to bed. His parents took him out of public school and put him in a christian school -- for he also was a child in school who would get in trouble. He became a member of Bethel Baptist Missionary Church.
Pastor Jones baptized and ordained him and gave him license to preach in 1978 at the age of 16. He met some that were suppose to be in summer school and for the next 30 days he did nothing but party, etc. Stealing came on the stage before the age of 18. God continued to put people in his life to guide him and help him along the way.
He landed a job he loved. He would share the news and minister about Jesus Christ even though he wasn't in or going to church. He worked hard, made nice money and spent most of his money on partying, etc. At 21 he bought his first Condominium in Vegas. Things were going good for him; he loved the fast life. He was meeting all types of famous starts. There was big parties and he was always there.
He was traveling all over the world -- England, Germany, France, Holland, and all thru the Carribean. He shares -- "If there is such a thing al success too fast and at too young of an age and not being in fellowship with God as a set up for diaster than he met all the criteria." "Cross Road" -- A Time in your life that you must make a decision or choice and the impact of your decision or choice is life changing not only for you in your life but also your family and friends.
Lesson he learned in business -- What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul? Once again he was making good money, living a high life style, etc. Living the life of sin "he admits" took the toll on him. He was in denial about having AIDS and began to question if he was saved. After being clean for three years; he picked up where he left off. He hated himself. He was a black preacher who didn't preach and had AIDS.
What could be worse? More than ten years later he ended up in Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. He never saw a doctor about his condition nor was he on any HIV/AIDS medication. He was in much pain when he arrived to the hospital. They did a lot of tests on him and rolled him in the blue room. Later they rolled him in the red room.
He has done much studying and learning to become educated on HIV/AIDS/STDS so that he would be able to teach and give accurate information. Before he called his parents he asked God to forgive him for all of his sins and that he was sorry for turning his back away from him as well as asking God for help to tell his parents.
After talking to his parents he thought maybe he should pray and ask "God please save me!" There was a Bible next to his bed but he don't remember how it got there. He was told by a nurse that while he was asleep a minister came into his room and prayed for him. He stayed in the hospital about three weeks or more, one morning the doctor came into his room and said, "Guess who's going home?" The doctors and nurses said -- "It was a miracle" for he was close to death. He called his parents and told them the news. His mother told him, you are going to have to do what God had asked you to do.
He told his mother I don't know what God had asked me to do. His mother asked him, "What are you going to do?" "Preach the Gospel." he told her. Food for Thought -- You and I don't know what all has happened in someone's life. However, God does. Don't ever give up. It doesn't matter if you have a college education or a 4th grade education; there is something that's called faith.
He was diagnosed with HIV some time in the early 80's. There has been many times he have been at the bedside of a young girl or boy dying from AIDS who was fighting for their last breath and as he was holding their little hand the death angel came and took them away and he would ask God why not me and HE informed him that he is not through using him yet.
Pastor Archey is available for speaking engagements and educational workshops.
