Mourid Barghouti was born in the West Bank in 1944. His poems are published in Beirut, Amman and Cairo, his collected
works were published in Beirut in 1997. he resides in Cairo. Mourid is married to the distinguished Egyptian author Radwa Ashour.
Adhaf Soueif translated this work from Arabic, she is te author of several works of fiction. The Map of Love was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
