The book "
Yitzhak Rabin - 1922-1995" published by "Avivim" Ltd. describes in words and pictures the story of a man whose
sacrificed his life for the establishment of the Israelie state.
Through ten gates that full of content and images we are exposed step by step to the man''s doing and to his life which was full with rich content and doing.
From the time of his birth in Jeruslem and his parents'' house to his way in "Kaduri" youth school, his entrance to the Palmach and his function in the War of Independence to his military positions in the IDF, the climax of this path by servise as the chief of IDF in the Six Day War, leaving the land for been an Israel''s ambassador in Washington, his return to Israel and established his position in the Labor Party by Sapir to his first tenure as prime
minister in early June 1974. In the seventh gate, we are exposed to Rabin that appointed as defense minister in the unity government in 1984 - a move which led to the withdrawal from Lebanon while dealing with the Intifada - the Palestinian disturbances in Judea and Samaria. This point is crucial in the life of Rabin because the military solution seemed more than ever not committed to reality.
In 1992, Rabin is wining the "primeris" of the Labor party and appointed as prime minister of israel after the elections in July of that year.
The last two gates are exciting in specail way and describing his efforts and success to put the first agreements with the PLO chairman - Yasser Arafat (the Oslo Accords A) and immediately thaw with the King of Jordan - Hussein for a peace contract between the two countries. Peace signing ceremony was held at the border in the Arava - October 1994.
Less than a year afterwards be held the signing ceremony with the Palestinians (Oslo II) on the lawn of the White House with the participation of President USA - Bill Clinton.
On Saturday - 4th of November 1995 a supporting rally for Rabins and his government''s peace plants was held in Kings of Israel Square in Tel Aviv. 3 shots pierced the back of Rabin while he went downstairs to his vehicle near the steps of the city hall. These shots closed the lid on the activities of Rabin. closed the lid of his life. The tenth gate describe the murder and the scenes of pain and sorrow and sign the book with Rabin''s memory side by side with the breakthrough pantheon of Israel: David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin.
The rally crowds in the square to mark the death clarifies how close was Rabin to the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of people across the country from its founding until his death. Aside to Rabin image as a symbol, Star of commendation for action, sacrifice and recognition a memory was left on the soldier / leader that finished his life in a tragic and painful way.
