The Gift

Book Review by: bloggs

Original Author: Mia Dolan
What an amazing book! What an amazing woman!
Having a keen interest in all types of mediumship and clairvoyance I thought
this book might be worth reading. Little did I realise what an amazing rollercoaster ride of emotions this story carries you on. It’s one of the most captivating books I have read.
The story starts with Mia describing her childhood. Infact it was a pretty normal childhood by all accounts except for the secret she kept about her Grandmothers lodger. He sexually abused her for a number of years but she has the wonderful heart to be able to sit by his bedside, later on in the book, and hold his hand whilst he passes away from cancer.
Her story continues into her teens when she has the misfortune of being the victim of a stalker. The police being no help in the matter she is scared to venture out. He eventually tracks her down and raped her. Shortly after she meets a person she falls in love with and becomes pregnant. Sadly her baby is born with heart defects and the doctors are unsure whether he will survive.
Around the age of 22 she has her first psychic experience. She foresees a plane crash and is absolutely scared witless by this event. She tries to push it to the back of her might only to see the news on the television the next day to find a plane really did crash. From then on she tries to develop her psychic awareness which grows from strength to strength. She learns who her guide is and learns to listen to his guidance.
At times its really hard for her to deal with her awareness, for instance, her blood turned cold when she foresaw her own brothers murder. How helpless one must feel to see something like that and be powerless to stop it.
Mia maps out her life story so eloquently and powerfully you can’t help but be consumed by it. Through her marriage, through the birth of her children, through her development of her mediumship, through various family tragedies. I truly couldn’t put this book down and would highly recommend it to not only those interested in mediumship and clairvoyance, but also to anyone interested in reading about an amazing human being and how she coped through an incredible life journey.
