As soon as i saw this book and read the back cover i knew it was going to be a fascinating book. i read it through in one
day as i flicked from page to page as it caught my interest.Jean Harrington Martina tells her story of being coerced into
prostitution from the age of 8, and spent the next 30 years working the streets. it was her honest account, and heart breaking to read.This is was a story that needed to be told, more so as there wasn't a voice for prostitutes out there, especiallyback in the early days when she started her life on the streets. Hopefully people will read the book with an open minded view on prostitution. There was one section in the book that rang very true, regarding the money that was made .. . Martina said she never put money away , reason being that no one knows if they are going to be here
tommorow. whats the point in worrying about tommorow. especially as she had seen girls die while on the job. it really does put things in perspective. martina has been totally openin this bookand has had the support of her friends and her children which gave her the strength and courage to share her life with the reading public. highly recommended read.
