Challanges faced by Girls today!

Book Review   by:dhawanbm     Original Author: Dhawanbm

One of the major challenges being faced by woman today, is the guarding of the family honor, which is of prime importance for some rural families. Even some girls today fall a victim to the wrath of their father’s will as they are committed to follow the family traditions and wish to marry them in their caste or religion with no respect for their feelings. Even when it comes to taking major decisions like marriage, girls are supposed to be like dumb cattle to go where their parents want them to go!

It has always been a male dominated society. Being a woman and survive the societal pressure is very difficult. It is perhaps the woman who kills a woman and there is seldom any threat from the outsiders. Life is very difficult for an illiterate woman who after marriage is coaxed to bring forth a male child the legal heir to the family. The time has come to awaken the people to stop killing the unborn daughters. Media and people in limelight can play a vital role in changing the mindset of the people in “Saving the Daughters.” It is the rural folk who can play the lead role in reversing the sex ratio. Perhaps there is an urgent need of a mass movement to fight against the large scale female feticide going on in the world. It is so called for as the rules framed prove to be ineffective in saving the life of an unborn girl. Societal pressure can be very effective.
