The ''''Magician Nephew'''', although not so popular, is an enthralling beginning to this magnificent series.The story starts with the introduction of Polly Plummer, a London girl to Digory, her neighbour Mr.Andrew Wetterley''''s nephew, who has come down to London with his ailing mother.While having a conversation, both of them decide to creep into Uncle Andrew''''s attic through a tunnel.They reach there to find two rings-one green & other yellow.But Uncle Andrew turns up there & cunningly gets Polly to travel to an other world by the yellow ring.Left with no choice,Digory has to follow her, into that world.Once there, they find themselves in a forest with pools.They dive into one of them & reach yet an another world, a world full of ruins.There mistakingly,they stuck a bell, which brings to life , the Queen Jadis-the wicked witch (who comes in the later part).She then travels with the kids to their world & starts harrasing everyone. A Cabby unfortunately gets drawn into this mess.He along with the witch,Uncle Andrew, Polly, Digory & the Cabby''''s horse were transported to a new world-THE MAGICAL WORLD OF NARNIA, which was in the crux of formation.There they hear for the first time, the magical voice of ASLAN,the Lion.Aslan awakens all the trees & the animals with his divine powers.He then decides to coronate the poor Cabby as the new King of Narnia.The witch goes into hiding.Uncle Andrew is punished for his deed.Aslan helps Digory to get a magical apple & sends him back along with Polly to their own world.The apple cures Digory''''s mother.Digory then grows up to be the famous Professor Kirke who comes in the later series.
