The Elfin Hill

Book Review   by:UnniBente     Original Author: Hans Christian Andersen
ª

Some lizards were noticinging that something was going on within the elfin hill, and one of them said he had spoken about it to an earth-worm of his acquaintance. The earth-worm could tell that they were expecting friends in the elfin-hill, a grand company, but he did not tell who they were.

In the elfin-hill, a lot of preparations were done, to make it ready for the guests, and the youngest daughter asked her father who the visitors were. He said that two of his daughters had to prepare themselves to get married, for the old goblin from Norway should come with his two sons, who both were seeking a wife.

The goblins arrived, and they entered the elfin-hill. The old goblin talked about Norwegian rocks, waterfalls and salmonds leaping in the water. The two boys thought their were all right when they put their feet on the table. At last the old goblin decidet to marry one of the elfin maidens, but the yongsters had no wish to get married, they prefered to drink to their good fellowship.
