Children'S Prattle

Book Review   by:UnniBente     Original Author: Hans Christian Andersen.
ª

There was a children’s party at a rich merchant’s house, and all the children of rich parents were there. The children were talking together, and childrens prattle is always spoken from the heart. A beautiful, but terribly proud little girl, said that she was well-born, and if you are not well-born, you could not rise in the world, it was no use to try, you could not achive anything. And she said that those people, whose names end with 'sen,' could never be anything at all. The merchant’s daugther got angry, for her fathers name was Pedersen, and she knew that the name ended in "sen." The children were talking alot about how important their parents were, but outside the door, was a poor boy, he was not been given permission to he enter the room, and then he heard what was said about names, which made him even more unhappy than he already was. Many years passed, and the poor boy became rich and famous, although his name
ended in "sen,"- for it was Thorwaldsen
