Wind in the Willows

Book Review   by:FionaByers     Original Author: Kenneth Grahame

Mr. Mole is in the middle of spring cleaning with white wash on his face when he cries enough. He abandons his home and ends up having a picnic with the water rat on the river. Here starts a lovely friendship.

Other characters are Mr. Toad who has a misadventure with a stolen horseless carriage, known in our world as a car. Then there is Mr. Badger.

I find I get tired of children's stories about animals; especially ones that act like humans. However the Wind in the Willows is a good read. The illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard are beautiful too.

I'm not sure if this book would make a chapter book. I read it at university.
