Pearly’ Adventure with the Giant Bird

Summary

This story is about two children Pearly and Winston. They were sister and brother. They both hated visiting but on the Sunday their mom ordered them to get ready as they were going to meet their Aunt Josie and Uncle Charlie. Pearly wore a beautiful blue georgette dress which was decorated with silver thread, a beautiful sash and frill whereas Winston wore black trouser and a stripped shirt. The family set for their destination on foot. On their way to Charlie’s house a giant bird appeared and took Pearly with it. Winston told this happening to his parents but they did not believe his story and thought that he and Pearly were playing a trick with them.

On the other hand the Giant bird took Pearly to his nest and served her with insects but when Pearly told him that she was a human being and didn’t eat such stuff he apologiz-ed and told her that he loved collecting antique things and her dress was so beautiful that he wished to add it in his collection and he never thought that someone might be inside the dress. He showed Pearly his collection and Pearly gave him, her sash as a friendly gesture. The Giant bird then dropped her at her uncle’s where she made every one speechless by telling her story.
