An adorable book of an extrodinary pig. The story focuses on a pig Wilber who was the runt of his litter. He was saved by one of the farmers daughter. He is constantly getting saved by his new friends in the barn yard, especially his closest friend Charlotte, a spider. She writes words in her web making Wilber seem like a special big, he becomes very popular, and people travel to see him. Wilber is a very sweet and overly sensitive big. He turns to Charlotte in all his crisis and sees her as a mother figure. He tries to help in any way can, everyone he encounters on the farm. Wilber represents the good in world. Unfortunetly, Wilber sees the evils of the world around him. He sees the glutony of his friend the rat, the evil and greed in man due to there often want to kill him, and he sees the effects of death when his friend Charlotte dies. But with Charlotte's death comes beauty and life. She had left her egg sack for Wilber to look after. Her children are born and some leave, while others stay. Wilber continues on in Charlotte's place, with her wisdom and his huge heart to take care of the young.
