Winnie-the-Pooh has turned Seventy-five years old (the fist book in
the Pooh series was published in 1924) and to celebrate this occasion
(or to take more money out of the Pooh fans pockets - mv) a new book
"Now We are Seventy-five" was published. The book is a selection of
stories and
poems from other Winnie-the-Pooh books: "Winnie-the-Pooh",
"The House at Pooh Corner", "When We Were Very Young" and "Now We Are
Six."
To those who don''t know who Winnie is (and I don''t believe there are
many -mv) the book is a grate introduction to the Pooh stories, although, it doesn''t contain only them, but also children poems.
Winnie-the-Pooh is a teddy-bear. "He lives in a forest all by himself
under the name of Sanders." His friends are Cristopher Robin, Piglet,
Rabbit and many others. Along with them he plays, gets involved in
different stories and eats honey (although that he prefers doing by
himself.)
The Pooh
bear is one of the most known characters in children
literature. He has become an icon, thanks to a remarkable writing of A.
A. Milne and recognizable illustrations by E. H. Shepard, which are also
available in this book.
