The third book in the exciting series of the Edge Chronicles. Midnight over Scantaphrax. It feels like the best book I’ve
ever read. The front cover of this book shows different points of the book. Especially the orange monster being ridden by Twig really makes this book sound fun. Then you would look on the back of the book. The back of the book looks really spooky because of the bird and the stone gardens.
Midnight over Scantaphrax is a good book because of the way it combines
features like
excitement, spookiness and mystery. Previously I have not read many books that have all these splendid features put together. The first part of the book is spooky and mysterious. The caterbird takes Twig to his father no way near Scantaphrax or Undertown. Twig’s father tells him a message of importance but the powerful weather vortex leads to loss of the crew. Afterwards Twig has to find them to find out if any of them knew what Twig’s father said. This is where the excitement begins but I have to stop because I can’t tell you the whole story.
There is a small problem with this story, which happened, in the last book Stromchaser. The book is like a spider gram that starts to go off to different places with one story line. Moreover, perhaps the book could not have unnecessary parts in it like where Twig is looking for his crew in a specific place, that part could be shortened. Whereas you have to think that you can’t take too much out because you would loose the flow of the story and it wouldn’t be exciting.
I would really recommend that you read this book because of all the excitement in it and the different features. I would also get this book because when you read it you get submerged into the book and a good writer will always make that happen. I recommend that you read these series of books in chronological order. If you do not read it in that order you will think it is an ordinary great book but if you read it in chronological order you will understand the book which makes it even more brilliant.
So just a reminder of top tips when you are reading this book to make it even better than it is. 1. Read it in chronological order. 2. Think the book is real life 3. Read the newspaper descriptions of the book.
