Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory was one of my old time favorites. There was a young boy named Charlie and he lived with his
family on the poor side of town. Not many people knew he existed because of the fact that their family was poor. Then one
day Mr. Wonka sent news that anyone finding a gold candy wrapper would win a trip to see the inside of the chocolate factory and how he made his
candies and chocolates. For Charlie this was huge. Then one day he bought a chocolate bar and found a gold wrapper. According to the contest there were only five wrappers. Four other
children went into the chocolate factor with Charlie that day and by the end of the story he was the only one left. Mr. Wonka gave the children specific instructions on not to touch his experiments with the candies. The four children didn''t listen to him as well as Charlie. But his grandfather explained that it was his fault not Charlie''s. At the end of the story Mr. Wonka not only gives a supply of candies to Charlie he and his family are allowed to live in the factory because Mr. Wonka was at the retirement age. He needed a child that he could trust with his secrets and he found that in Charlie. This book made you want to read it over and over again. I enjoyed it thouroughly and found myself wanting to hear more about the factory.
