Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, is the second installment in the very successful Harry Potter series
written by J.K. Rowling.While spending his summer vacation at the Dursleys, Harry received a warning from a house-elf, Dobby, not to return to Hogwarts because he will be in mortal danger in Hogwarts, but Harry was still determined to return despite the warning.
Worried that Harry was not responding in his letters, one night Ron came with Fred and George in their father's flying car to rescue Harry. Harry spends the rest of his summer with the Weasleys, where he meet Ron's younger sister, Ginny, who has a crush on him. On their trip to Diagon alley to buy books they meet their new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Lucius Malfoy, Draco's father.
At the King's Cross Harry and Ron wasn't able to enter Platform nine and three quarters, they decided to use the flying car, unfotunately the car crashes to the Whomping Willow, which accidentally snapped Ron's wand.
Harry hears a voice in castle of Hogwarts that no one else could hear, and after attending Nearly Headless Nick Deathday party, Mrs. Norris, Mr. Filtch's cat, found petrified at the corridor, and a writing on the wall about the
chamber of secret being open again. According to legend the Chamber of Secrets was built by Salazar Slytherin, and only his heir could open it again.
At Harry's Quiddith match against Slytherin team, he got hit by a tampered bludger, Professor Lockhart tried to heal Harry but makes the injury much worse. Late at night at the Hospital wing, Harry was woken up by the presence of Dobby, Dobby admits that he was the one who stops Harry getting through the barrier at King's Cross, and tampered the bludger to injured Harry to make him return to the Dursleys.
Manystudents suspects Harry to be the heir of Slytherin, particularly after he speaks parseltongue to stop a huge snake attacking one of the students. Harry found an unusual
diary, and when he examined it , the owner of the diary Tom Roddle, shows him that Hagrid was the one who control the monster at Hogwarts. One day someone stole the diary, and the attacks started again, Hermione became one of the victim. When Harry and Ron tried to confronts Hagrid, he tells them to follow the spider. The giant spider ,Aragog, who lives in the forbidden forest said that Hagrid was innocent.
With the help of paper clutch in Hermione's hand, Harry and Ron discover that the entrance to the chamber was at the Moaning Myrtle bathroom where they spent loads of times brewing polyjuice potion. A message on the wall declares that Ginny has been taken into the Chamber. Harry and Ron force the fraud, Proffessor Lockhart , to go with them to rescue Ginny, in the entance of the chamber Lockhary use Ron's broken wand to erase their memory, but the spell bacfires on Lockhart.
In the chamber Harry finds Ginny unconscious, the owner of the diary, Tom Riddle, was also there. Tom Marvolo Riddle reveals to Harry that he was Lord Voldemort, and he's controlling Ginny to open the Chamber. The basilisk tries to kill Harry in Tom Riddle's command. But with the help of Dunmbledore's phoenix, Fawkes, which arrives with the sorting hat, where Harry draws out Godric Gryffindor sword, Harry been able to kill the basilisk, but had been pierced by its fang. Thinking that Harry was dying, Tom Riddle taunts Harry, but Fawkes heal Harry with his tears. Harry stabs the diary with basilisk's fang, and the memory of Tom Riddle disappears, while Ginny revives.
Harry discovers that the Malfoys was Dobby's masters, he realizes that it was Lucius who slipped the diary into Ginny's books, in Diagon Alley. For Dobby to be free, Harry hides one of the socks ds it to Lucius, Lucius throws it but Dobby catches it, thinkingf that his master given him a clothing and freeing him from servitude. Lucius tries to Harry but Dobby protects him and warns Lucius Malfoy not to hurt Harry Potter.
