A very
funny book about two little askers, a sister and a brother. No plot as such, just a chain of funny episodes. Well, perhaps some of the episodes (as, for example, "Who`s Rabid?") are not very funny, but the book is hilarious! The world seen through the eyes of the children is colorful, strange and comic. And full of
questions, too! Why does the wind blow, do trees wave their fingers to make the wind blow? Why are the small
butterflies and the big butterflies called butterflies, surely the big ones should be called BOOflies? Why the Daddy in the portrait is young and has hair, and the Daddy sitting at the desk is old and bald? Why should you say "Thank you for the
gift" after you have been given a gift, but not before? Why does it buzz if it does not exist? Why does Mummy just laugh and kiss you when you ask her a question, why doesn`t she answer the question? Questions and more questions...The book is written in Lithuanian and worth
translating. Alas! it is nearly untranslatable... Too many "childish"
words in it, too many words not found in dictionaries; and even if you find one in a dictionary, it is not the one you need when translating a book of this kind. Thence the "Whywhywhyer" and not "Pester!"...
