Original Author: Enid Blyton
“The Famous Five – Five Go Off To Camp” by Enid Blyton
The children plan their holiday going camping, building
tents and having fun nature walks. They are already experts in making detailed lists with all they will need for the stay outdoors. Sleeping bags, food and a map are the most important items. Mr. Luffy an elderly teacher is giving them a ride to the moorland. On their first innocent walk they end up surprisingly at a tunnel with an unused a railway yard nearby. The famous five sense an adventure in the air. The old watchman, Wooden-Leg Sam speaks strangely about spook night trains. This causes Dick to want to find out more while Julian does not think it’s real. Little Anne by herself has some scary experience but luckily is being calmed by Mr. Luffy, explaining to her about underground tunnel for trains and their vents to release steam. The boys and their new friend Jock, a boy from the nearest farm, decide to go at midnight to check things out. George and her dog Timmy by chance discover an old train hidden inside the blocked tunnel. They get caught by Mr. Andrews, Jock’s stepfather and his men. How will this adventure be solved? This book is for readers who are always wondering what will happen next and keep turning page by page to satisfy their curiosity. Enid Blyton is an amazing author who understands children minds and hearts doing great job in writing the series of books for them.
