The dog in this story is called Buttons. He got his name in the second chapter even though he is introduced in the second paragraph! He is a little puppy but he is the one that changed Phillip’s life. Phillip is a young, lonely boy who is deaf – he can’t hear anything. He got Buttons as a Christmas present and this little dog’s adventures lead to helping those who cannot hear…
Linda Yeatman has written this wonderful story that is a delightful little tale to be enjoyed by all children and adults alike. I would rate it 8/ 10 and guess what - I helped a special charity just by buying this book and do you know what it is called? Hearing Dogs for the Deaf! This charity is featured in this story and helps the deaf; you can also help them as well, just by buying a copy!
