This is the Ladybird book of the story of Dick Whittington. It is good for
young children aged 4 – 7 because it is very easy,
the words aren’t too tricky and are repeated quite a bit so you
young kids can learn them better. If you don’t know the story of Dick Whittington or can’t remember it, I’ve written a summary to jog your memory: Dick was a poor orphan boy who could barely find a job so his clothes were thin rages and he could scarcely get a proper meal. He
decided to go to London and when he did, he worked, for Mr Fitzwarren, as the cook’s helper. He had got a cat but then had to sell it and that made him sad. He decided to go back but then the bells seemed to be singing a strange tune… I’d definitely rate this really good book 8/10.
