“The Famous Five – Five Fall Into
Adventure” by Enid Blyton
Our adventure begins at Kirrin Cottage where Uncle Quentin,
a famous scientist and his wife Aunt Fanny live with their daughter Georgina, who prefers to be called George, and her dog Timmy. They have their cousins Julian, Dick and Anne coming for only two weeks at the end of the summer vacation. Aunt Fanny and Uncle Quentin are going on holidays to Spain the next day knowing, the
children will be with fine Joanna the cook. Julian, the eldest boy can take care of the others and Timmy the dog is always on guard. The children enjoy the beach near by, but meet there a girl who gets into fight with them. They find it hard to trust this girl whose name is Jo. Meanwhile at night the cottage is being broken into and Uncle Quentin’s work and papers are all messed up. Everyone is upset since no one heard anything nor had been waken up by Timmy the faithful dog! Quiet soon, they find out the reason Timmy was sleepy, he has been doped! The policemen start an investigation questioning and interviewing each one. Later George and Timmy are being kidnapped. More exciting things continue to happen even more than ever before. The children seem to run out of ideas how to solve the serious and dangerous situation especially without Timmy around. Finally they get unexpected help from Jo, who turns out to be very useful and clever in many ways.
