Pets are wonderful creatures, who are your friends and who afford you hours of pleasure in their company without seeking anything from you in return.
My elder daughter has a keen liking for pets. She has always been passionate about animals like
dogs and cats. And on the same I have always been averse to this
idea of
Pet keeping. I don’t know how people tolerate
cats and dogs in their homes, who have a nice time at your expense without ever doing you a good turn.
Last month after the exams were over, she fondled with the idea of
keeping an earthworm or two at home, which her mother objected to. Her ideas and imaginations seem to be boundless and she suggested to me that she wanted to keep a python or a lizard as a pet. I was dumbstruck and wondered why she has grown such a passion for reptiles, may be it is the effect of her previous birth!
Now it was decided that we shall have ‘fish’ as pets. So two pairs of identical, thick glasses were cut and fixed in place to make a
fish home. Then we went to Pet care shop to buy an air supply, fish feed, pump and some medicines to keep them healthy. Thus we bought fish namely ‘Albino’, ‘Danio’, ‘Green tiger barb’, ‘Serpae tetra’, and put them to water which made the children happier.
Now an idea caught the imagination of my daughter that why not beautify the aquarium with corals and reefs which we had brought from Goa and Kerala last year, to which I readily agreed and gave my consent.
