Harriet Castor has done a great job with this book. It is about a girl who is the captain of her school’s football team. In the town she lives in, there are two schools and the new city council leader, Dr Pinch, says that there can only be one school and that the ‘smartest, sleekest and most streamlined school’ would stay. Her school wasn’t any of those things but Redlands, the other school, was…This story is hilarious, twisted, cleverly written and very enjoyable. It is a book that I would highly recommend to children, in particular girl football fans. I would rate this book 10/ 10 because it show that football is not only a boys game but a girls one to; it also teaches that working hard always has rewards; the final lesson is that you should think logically.
