Anne Fine is a children’s laureate but this book that she has written is just rubbish (and that is only the polite way to say it); it let’s down her good quality as if it got washed away with the rain or blown away with the wind (like my garden fence). This is aimed at both girls and boys aged around 6 – 9 years old.
The book ‘Notso Hotso’ (this one) is as if it is told by the dog himself: it is kind of like a dairy in a way. It has black and white illustrations, a wide range of vocabulary, lots of dialogue, a problem or two, and lots of other things that are good for school children’s stories – the only bad thing is the subject which is pretty dead boring.
