They leave for the waterhole where Mandy, James and their friend Levina are watching giraffes
at a waterhole when Mandy spots one in trouble. The giraffe cannot get up and is stuck in the mud. Lions and other predators will be able to get it easily. Mandy also sees a baby giraffe and knows that it is the giraffe’s child. Levina says that you can’t mess with natures balance. Surely they can't just leave a mother and her baby to die? This is a good book for animal lovers of all ages. I would actually rate this book around 9/ 10 although I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I liked a lot of the other Lucy Daniels' books.
