The Midnight Fox

Book Review by: Mej1

Original Author: Betsy Byars
Puffin Modern Classics highlight the most thriving and lastingly well liked stories available for children in the recent
years. Tom lives in the city and he is not really looking forward to spending the summer holiday on his uncle’s farm. However, he learns to love the farm when he finds a black vixen living in the woods. But his Uncle Fred wants to kill the female fox and Tom is determined to save her. At first the author of this book wrote articles for newspapers and magazines. Then, when her children were learning to read, she wrote stories for them. She used her own child hood memories and wrote some fantastic stories. One was so good that it won an award: The Summer of the Swans won a Newberry Medal!
