Dick King Smith did not know he was to be an author. He was milking one of the cows on his farm when an idea for a story
came to him and so he wrote it down. He went to went to get it published and luckily it did. Do you know what book this was? This one of course – Fox Busters!
This was his first book and it already showed his witty way of making animals speak and behave in crazy manners, without losing their characteristics. This book is about a farm with chickens (and other animals) that could fly. They could get away from any fox although elderly ones did get eaten. This is a story every hen will tell her brood and every vixen will tell her cubs.
