Once there was a handsome prince
This prince looking for a perfect wife
He searched
kingdoms far and near
But none was found to share his life.
There were either too fat or too jolly
Or too ugly or too sad or far too tall
There were all too imperfect for him
They were too thin or even to small.
The boy never found the girl and
This made the young prince was sad
Then she came knocking on the door.
He had found her so he was truly glad!
She was cold and tired and hungry
She had rain dripping down her face
She was bathed and fed and dried
She was dressed in a nightgown of lace.
The queen wanted to see if she was true
If she was a real princess or was she fake,
She slept on a pea hidden under mattresses
And in the morning had a terrible ache.
Now this prince was so overjoyed
This prince stopped looking for a wife
For he had a lovely lady by his side
She was the one to share his life.
