Rose Campbell ends up orphaned and can’t bear to even think about spending one more day in her boarding school – it is so
dull and dreary for her and she finds it like torture. With no where else to go, she has to go to Aunt Hill to live with her six aunties and her seven cousins (who were all boys). Life at Aunt Hill is strange for her at first and timid little Rose often feels overwhelmed by the high spirits of her mischievous cousins and their mad antics. Then her Uncle Alec won’t let her drink coffee and does make her eat plain, old, boring oatmeal, which is no way one of her favourites. Will Rose ever feel at home with this noisy new family?
