Wind in the Willows Part 4/ 20: Toad Falls in Love

Book Review by: Mej1

Original Author: Kenneth Grahame
In this book Toad’s latest craze, a circus caravan, ends disastrously in a ditch. Then comes a motorcar and Toad has fallen
head-over-heels in love with it – nothing is going to stop this creature when he wants one – not even Ratty and his appeals at going to the police about this rude driver…
This is third book in the Wind in the Willows series, which is the story split into 20 delightful self-contained books. Each book is approximately one to two chapters of the whole book and the titles are different but the novel is the same.
The only thing about this book I criticise is that words like ‘gay’ and ‘ass’, even if they were commonly used in Grahame’s era, are not suitable for children and I understand that this is totally copyright to Kenneth Grahame but could they not have changed these words?
