Wind in the Willows Part 8/20: Mole Gets Homesick

Book Review by: Mej1

Original Author: Kenneth Grahame
Mole has been staying with Rat for many months - almost a year now. When Rat and Mole are returning to Rat’s house, on a
cold winter’s night, Mole catches a whiff of his old home, which must be somewhere nearby, and is suddenly overcome by a strong urge to return to his own cosy little underground home!
The illustrations are beautiful and the message strong: woven together with Kenneth Grahame’s magical way with words.
I love the bit where they pass the bird in the cage at the window and then Mole suddenly senses the smell of his old home…
This book is perfect for a bedtime story!
