finds that he is trapped by the many limitations of being young, living in a small community, and having little money. He also finds that he is alienated by the fact he is an orphan. He must learn how to deal with the social conventions of his town or end up a misfit. Unfortunately, Tom is very happy of his misfit title. He becomes a leader the other children. He helps others and grows while doing so. Overall Tom Sawyer is a great story of a boy in his adventures growing up in a small town in America.
