He is an original even to the vampires as he defies tradition again and again. What makes this series unique is the story is from the vampires point of view rather than the victim. It took me a long time to start reading this series because I thought it was going to be just another vampire story, my sister kept telling me about it and finally I got the first one from the library and have been an Ann Rice fan ever since. My favorite vampire is Marius who also is introduced in the story and many more characters, there's sure to be a favorite for you too, you'll be wanting to read more and there's plenty to satisfy your thirst, but be prepared for a sleepless night as you delve into the world of Lestat and Louis, and Lestat may turn you into a complete vampire fan.
