Madame Bovary:Provincial Life

Book Review by: hanson

Original Author: Gustave Flaubert
Madame Bovary:Quest for the Unknown
Published in 1857 by the French Realist Gustave Flaubert,"Madame Bovary "is the
tragic tale of a woman consumed by the lawless magnificence of her own stupendous fantasies and desires.
Emma Bovary is a French Gentlewoman of the Bourgeiose, totally bored with the tedious monotony of provincial life.Bored with the perceived drabness of her Doctor Husband , Madame Bovary yearns for a Romance and an eloquent emotional and material grandeur, which ultimatly leads her to participate in adulterous relationships.
Emotionally exploited by her two lovers, Madame Bovary 's adultery ultimatly leads her to economic ruin and her tragic suicide.
"Madame Bovary "is a Novel which raises the questions of individual conscience and social morality and the futility of all passionate desire difficult to achieve in Reality.
