One of the ever greatest writer, Leo Tolstoy's novel Resurrection is the story of the enlightment of soul. Resurrection is classified as the process in which a human feels the god inside him and listen to his soul, when he understand the importance of pure love to humanity. It shows you that, if you have loved someone beyond all the limits and deals, then you stands on the gate of resurrection and once you are resurrected, you will be able to feel the importance of being human, you will find yourself on the stage where you can love all the humanity and pardon every sin, because than you know that all the sins are done due to lack of knowledge and the never ending materialistic lust. Resurrection is the story of Nekhludov. He is rich, young landlord living a luxurious life. He is living the life just to live. He is always surrounded of the social pretension and always acts, as he is liked to, by the society. One day suddenly one of his old moral crimes strikes him. Long ago he had sex with a village-girl and than forgot her. Now she comes as a victim of murder in the courtroom where Nekhludov himself is a jury-member. A judicial mistake enforces her to the imprisonment, even when she is not guilty. Nekhludov sees that his crime has destroyed her life, he finds himself in front of his on soul and after a long time he starts thinking over the materialistic platform. Finally he feels what resurrection is. Leo Tolstoy is assumed to be the greatest novelist of all time by most of the critics. He is the poet of love, humanity, enlightment and power of God, who lives inside the human.Tolstoy philosophy describes that everyone has the internal feeling of what is right or wrong, but the lack of trust on himself and the feeling of insecurity makes him do, what he himself doesn't favor. Resurrection is the battle of a man who decides to go with his own truth and demolish all burdens and convectional standards. He feels love as the basis of human life and sees that he can love everyone because of his feeling of brotherhood to all humankinds. He believes only in moral crimes, which are the suppression of soul. He feels the moral strangeness and prays-" God! Pardon them, because they themselves don't know what they are doing ". This is a must read novel in which Tolstoy shows you the way of enlightment of soul.
