„Dead poets
society”(1989) is a simple brilliant film which shows nothing else but the truth what’s inside us. The
film arosed on the basis of N. H. Kleinbaum’s book with the same title. This great movie won many awards but the most important was an Oscar in 1989. Academy of Welton’s
students are bored with thei school where the prevails strict and rigorous principles – they’re had enough. Everything changes when a new English teacher appears (grate Robin William’s role) names Mr. Keating. Unorthodox methods of teaching and his will to work with the students make Keating become a favourite teacher and friend of every guy in the Academy. It's an incredibly person who wants to open eyes, and tries to show what is really important in people’s life (for example memorable “Carpe diem” scene). During one year spends with mr. Capitan (that’s how Keating wanted to call him) four boys: Neil, Knox, Todd and Charles even found a club called “Poets
Society” where they read and talk about the poems. They seems to be very happy. Unfortunately, a big tragedy takes place. One of the young men, Charles, kills himself because his parents forbade him playing a role in the theatre –even though it was his dream. They were totally angry about his passion and love to art. After that the school’s management and Charlie’s parents accused Keating that it was his fault and he finally had to leave the Academy. His students disagreed with this opinion and wanted to against them- they’ll show, they stay with their “Capitan”-as he was usually called by his boys. They tried but they couldn’t stop headmaster’s decision and oppose him. Although a big disaster happened , they’ll never forget they teacher not only of English but of LIFE. In spite of It’s one of the most sad movie I have ever seen-It’s very edifying too. It shows us the truth which we can use in our life. A deep moral from “Dead poets society” can move our heats or can not. Nevertheless, the film is worth seeing and the book is worth reading-Personally, I prefer book but the film didn’t disappointed me too.
