Who is Gabriel Garcia Marquez you may ask. He was born in Columbia in 1927. He was awarded
the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. He is the author of many works of fiction and non-fiction, including "One Hundred years of Solitude," "Love in theTtime of Cholera," "The Autumn of the Patriarch," " The Gerneral in His Labyrinth", and "News of a Kidnapping." He lives in Mexico City.
In Love in the time of Cholera, a young man by the name of Florentino Ariza and a young lady named Fermina Daza fall passionately in love. Fermina eventually dumps him and chooses to marry a wealthy doctor by the name of Juvenal Urbino. Ariza is devastated.
He whiles away the next 51 and some odd years having multipe love affairs trying to forget Fermina to no avail. When at last her husband dies, he reappears on the night of Urbino''s funeral and declares his everlasting love for her. What happens next you ask?
