Thumbelina

Book Review   by:Mej1     Original Author: Hans Christian Andersen
ª

Once, a woman grew a barleycorn in her garden, so beautiful that when she kissed the petals of the bloom, it burst into a flower and a tiny but beautiful girl emerged. The woman named her Thumbelina, as she was no bigger than the woman''s thumb. The girl''s beauty soon attracted the attention of a frog. The frog thinks she is a perfect bride for her ugly son. The frog gets enchanted in her lovely looks that he puts her on a lily pad so she can’t escape but she does. Fishes nibble on the lily pad and a butterfly takes hold of the ribbon in her hair and gently pulls it. But along the way a beetle snatches her…
I would rate this book 7/ 10 because it is so beautifully written and so beautifully illustrated that it stands out from all other books.
