This is a story of an Anglo Indian girl.. The story is set in the pre-independence era of India. Queenie used to live in
Calcutta with her grandmother, mother and
uncle. Her ultimate dream was to go to England. Finally she got a chance to go to England with her uncle. There she started working as a dancer at a night club. After a long fight and struggle, she became a movie star. But she always had a complex of being a half Indian and she always feared of being recognized as an Anglo Indian. She also had another fear and guilt, that was of her uncle’s murder committed by her as her uncle was exploiting her. She had to make many sacrifices in her life but ultimately, Queenie made a place for herself.
