Charles Dickens
wrote Oliver Twist, Great Expectations and David Copperfield, didn’t he? Yes, he did but he also wrote some other famous classics like this one – A Christmas Carol! This
book has this
story in it (just like the cover said) but it also has another story, which is called ‘A Cricket on the Heath’; Charles Dickens wrote that as well! They are both about Christmas, here is a bit more in relation to them both:
A CHRISTMAS CAROL
This is a great book with a moral. It is about a selfish man, who absolutely hates Christmas, called Ebenezer Scrooge. Three ghosts, who change his life forever, visit him! He gets horrified when he dreams of his miserable death, if he does not change his terrible ways…
I would rate this story 9/ 10.
THE CRICKET ON THE HEARTH
This book isn’t very well known at all. Even though one of the best writers in history, Charles Dickens, wrote this, it is still not very well known – well I have never heard of it before and I doubt you have as well. It is about John Perrybingle and his wife Mrs Mary Perrybingle, Caleb Plummer, who works for an ill-natured, mean, old
man – Tackleton, and his two children, Bertha and Edward. Tackleton is a very cruel man who underpays poor old Caleb Plummer…
I would rate this story 5/ 10.
