As I re-read this classic tale I was struck by how much, and how little society has changed, and yet remained unchanged through
the ages. How insightful Charles Dickens was. Did it come from his own dual lifestyle? I can not say.
It struck me that his insight is what keeps his stories alive and as poplar today as they were when written by him. He lovingly displays our bases nature and makes it OK to dislike evil and champion beauty and
goodness for goodness sake.
He makes us feel that in the end all will be OK. And we need that today as much as his contemporaries desired to hear and see it in their day.
