The meaning of the book title "The Plague"

Academic Paper Summary by: Inkvisitor

Original Author: Albert Camus
This abstract was translated from Znaczenie tytułu-"Dżuma"
Book "The Plague" is a great metaphor which we can understand, knock off to a lot of different ways like:
Plague
as a disease
- is a main meaning of the title. The city is attacking by the illness, which people must square up. Simultaneously plague is an element, symbol of all threats, which nature send, and with which we don''t have smallest income. Plague can also be regarded as a metaphor of death.
Plague as a war - it is important to don''t forget, that the Camus novel developed only two years after ending war, in the moment, when all had in the memory rules of brutal pestilence.Everything what is happening in the city, engrossed illness, to a large extent resembles the occupation. The war and associated with it totalitarianism, in fact are different from plague, because their perpetrators were people. There are also a great test of our attitudes and behavior. The war stripping us from masks, and similarly as epidemic, leave only a truth.
