Oedipus ReyThe Tragedy, according to Aristotle, is the imitation(mímesis) of an action(share) (practice) of high character, in a beautifullanguage. The tragic action(share) implies a change of fortune (incident) thatmakes change into misfortune the happiness of the protagonist, due to one ormore mistakes (hamartías) committed with the ignorance of the consequences thatthey can transport. Oedipus Rey is the faithful reflection(reflex) of thetheory aristotélica of the tragedy, descripta in his(her, your) Poetics. Thetetralogía of which I form a part in the Big Dionisias (festivals in honor ofthe god Dioniso that there were including dramatic representations realized inthe month of Elafebolion - March-) it(he,she) has reputation of having obtainedonly the second position(place) in the dramatic agon, even if Oedipus king isconsidered by many(many people) Sophocles's masterpiece (Colonist, Greece, 496B.C.). The importance of the theatre in the ancient Greece was enormous, because of it only there were competing in these festivals the best (everyauthor with a tragic trilogy and a comedy) for three days. In the abovementioned work, the central aspects of the tragedy will be described: oracle ofDelphi, death of I Rope for Oedipus, the Sphinx, the incest, the exile, etc...The history of an incestuous poor devil whose this luck been ruled by onewithout end(purpose) of bad(wrong) decisions was a fundamental prop(pillar) inthe work of the father of the Psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. Probably the topicof the destination(destiny) is the backbone of this tragedy that for mas of2400 years is still being surprised. The beautiful of the tragedy, nevertheless, is not the suspense that is provoked by her(it), but theaesthetic possession of a made well work, since the Greek spectators knew inadvance the conclusion... What was impressing them was Sophocles's art and thedepth and dramatic quality that was granting his(her, your) prominent figureswho were managing to imply the spectator who was suffering with them.
Oedipus Rey's influence even today is still in force.Because of it it is a fundamental work of the world literature.
