When John Steinbeck was writing 'Of Mice and Men' in his roomy apartment or wherever he so happened to be at that time, do you
think he stopped to think of the impact it would have on children in schools finding their ssummers a
little bit more endurable because of the pages to fan their faces, the elderly who enjoyed the
book whilst sipping a glass of J.P.Chenet in their little villa in the North of Spain, the teenagers combatting their angst through radical writers like John himself inspiring them to make peaseful protest? He is, in my opinion, that of an artist, a mortal ye risen, a being meant for better things. When he wrote this book, he knew well teh feelings it would stir up
inside others because they were the feeling which started inside of him. How do you release the anger and promote the knowledge of what went on during the American Depression? How do you convey that fickle idea of the American dream in a realitive way? John did this and in such a way that even in this day and age where there are no dogs to befriend or dungarees to wear or even people to protect you, you can still see the relevance shining through. Masterpiece.
