An amazing book about the hardships of being
poor. The
town consists of mostly the poor struggling to help each others
family out. Then the one poor family trying to make it in the world come across a priceless
pearl. This poor family in this poor
little town become very paranoid of there fast money. The father suggests they leave town or they will be hurt or murdered for the pearl. They are only out for themselves, surged with greed. They travel at all hours, the mother clinging to her little
baby as they run from whoever they feel is chasing them. Their fears over take their greed and they decide to stop running. They have reached the beach and they throw their precious pearl into the surf. Unfortuntely, a
shot is fired from a distance as they return home. The mother looks down to see the tragedy of the matter, her baby has been shot and killed. Their fortune of a find had lead to total misfortune, if they had not left their homes their family would still be find. Overall this is a great story of the struggles of being poor and being rich all in one story. Of course finding at the end that the moral is family is more important then money.
