the first thing i bought with my first ever "professional" salary is a graphic novel by one of the best in
pinoy comics: WASTED.WASTED is written and illustrated by
gerry alanguilan, it is originally a " "photocopy-staple"
comic, which eventually gained cult fame because of its simple, yet great story of love, pain and redemption... and most especially because of its black and white graphics that really breathes life and angst into the character:eric.Alanguilan has since worked with the best comic
book companies including image,dc and marvel. but still i think WASTED is his best work. whenever i was so down and so
fucked up with my life all i do is pick my
copy of WASTED, and the fucked-up feeling goes down the drain as the story progresses. in my opinion reading it when you're down beats shooting up other people's brains any time of the day.but i have parted with my most precious copy of WASTED, i believe my copy is in safe hands somewhere in chicago, and i hope a lot of people have read it...and the most memorable litany i've read, i've read it here-- and it starts with: "...i hate..."
