Have you ever wondered what would happen if an evil overlord tried to take over the world from a leaky basement by hiring
two incompitent teenage girls? Neither have I, but now I know exactly what would happen.
And I love it.
Excel Saga, a manga (Japanese Comic) which spawned a popular anime (Japanese Animation)
series, is quite possibly the most hilarious, most amazing piece of comedy I have ever witnessed. The series of graphic
novels string together a tale of shameful proportions as Excel (A hyper active girl lacking mental compitence) and Hyatt (A clueless innocent young woman who suffers from so many diseases she could be a biological weapon) attempt to take over the world for€ROSS, an organization run by the charismatic Lord Ilpalazzo.
Their psychotic adventures include the oddest of characters, from an overzealous mayor who accidentely (and yet humorously) cracks his head on a desk while doing a quadruple-back-flip, to a mad scientist who loves children in a creepily obsessive way. And of course, whats a story without an animal? The dog Mince is taken in by Excel and Hyatt as an "Emergency Ration" (Yes, they'd eat the dog). Mince's failed escapes are perhaps some of the best parts in the novels.
To be blunt, if yo like abstract humor, you'll love Excel Saga...now go buy it, I have to finish reading the next one.
