Have you ever wondered if you can really
draw. Do you have a favorite
cartoon character, that makes you laugh and it gets you thinking " I CAN DO THAT " and you
start to doodle out on a torn piece of paper a sketch nearly as close to your cartoon hero as possible. Well These are great signals that can possibly be improved over time. I myself started out this way , as time
went on i moved to mixing colors out of pure curiosity to see what other colors i can achieve. With out any schooling i guess i was just making a mess. I always in the back of my mind wanted to become a great cartoonist some day. Then I worked with lines , several from thick to thin from jagged to straight, short lines and long lines. I was definately amazed @ how the way each cartoon character was made and how it could move from one place to another with out losing its original look and style and @ how it was kept together this way all out through the picture. This brought me on to start and study animation. This went on for several years. When growing up in
school no specific one this went on in all my schools. You can say i was flabber gasted about the thought of cartoons I mean when i draw it''s like I am in another world all by my self just to play with these make believe characters that only I can invent. I went as far as to build my own anomation table with what materials I had @ home. And a animation book of course to tell me how to build one, with much success i had a table that was in well good working condition for the best part. In school I was always making sure I took art for any semester, just to get in to the really good stuff as creating the character myself. I studied
drawing all through my life, and I can really draw to my satisfaction on any suject I want and i can duplicate the drawing as identical as they come. This in turn is how well I myself can draw. My studing payed off for me to my satisfaction my neighborhood news paper called me a freelance cartoonist @ one point in my time. When you learn several drawing techniques you can possibly draw and learn these drawing skills to a tee. you will most likely want to write someday your own story books or etc. of any kind of book may it be romance novel, comics, or just playing right out childrens books the time is endless for this sort of stuff. Then is when your talent to draw stands out in the crowd and shows. This is when you know you have made it. when you start to get paid for the illistrations then your @ the top. People of all walks of life are doing what makes them most happy drawing and to draw for a living that is fabulous! You are you own boss when it comes to drawing and then to draw for the public and get paid for it what can be more rewarding than that kind of accomplishment. If you are out of school and you want to return you can always go to a community college and take up art there. Correspondence courses thu the mail are also a plus, for those of you who do not just have the time to get out and go to classes. Back in the 60s is when i first started to think about my first drawing. In fact I today I have an original picture of my drawing hanging in my room from my first art class in junior high school that i drew for my mom, dated 1973 excuse me it was in the 70s my mistake. And I have been drawing ever since. With a developed talent you can draw form ghost books to fantasy and anything in between. But when you start to get paid for it thats when the really good
fun starts. But sad to say I am a writer not a cartoonist professionally just yet. To get started @ drawing for a career you might want to look in a magazine for a free drawing test application. Take it home with you and take the test to see if you really have any talent, this is also good way to check to see what level you are @. These school are a little expensive so try and be sure this is what you really want to do in life and do not just persue to throw money away. Only you can choose the road your future hold for you, a smart well planned out drawing career with pay up to six figure or just a stay home couch potato, with no high paying skill. The choice is up to you. Have fun and remember to enjoy what truely makes you happy.
